While some of them can be an embarrassment, that’s a bit harsh (a bit?). However, I wouldn’t put it past them to try to capitalize on the holiday in some fashion. Maybe charge the government for using his name on it?
If there is any one thing that I would be infinitely grateful for, it would be for our Congress to enact a law establishing that ANY event which occurs at the National Mall be in the public domain. The MLK family makes me sick about their crass attempts to hijack their father’s legacy—and they seem to be getting away with it for the most part..—Richard

I would think the Republicans and free market conservatives would embrace the idea of making money off of the family name and fame.
