Well, a marble is kind of like the candy jawbreaker: spherical AND could break your jaw.

When I was a kid all my jeans had holes in the knees from playing marbles. Great times.

When I was a kid in Louisville the boys played Marbles and the girls played Jacks. Long Long ago.

now-a-days kids get their hand eye coordination from video games and their concept of life from reality t.v. – is it any wonder?

The Peanuts kids played a lot of marbles in the early days, and of course Lucy was a champion jump rope jumper. I don’t remember them playing jacks ever, and maybe only a few times hop-scotch. (I wonder if kids reading this recognize very many of these words……..)

The only thing we did with marbles was heating them up in a pan on the stove and then dropping them into cold water to watch them crackle.
