Just wait unitl the bail out the bank pocket grab comes around again, thanks Republican “penny pinchers”… midldle class pennies pinched to provide for the 1% again, that is.
Must be a TEA party Republican (AKA: Real Republican) saying he’s on the wrong bus. The Establishment Republican (AKA: RINO) feels comfortable driving, though…
Republicans NEVER balance budgets. They’ve sworn serious pledges not to. In the past 50 years, deficits have always been lower under Democrats. Get your story straight before drawing a cartoon.
@DGF999“Must be a TEA party Republican (AKA: Real Republican) saying he’s on the wrong bus. The Establishment Republican (AKA: RINO) feels comfortable driving, though…”So what you’re saying is that any member of the Republican Party who doesn’t have an allegiance towards the Tea Party isn’t a “real” Republican. That’s pretty exclusive and elitist of you.
denis: the rider Republicans put in allows couples on their side to pay $3.6 million for those two plates. The cost to taxpayers for the banking (HAR! ROFL, casino “banking”) can exceed a trillion dollars, easily. And of course Iraq and Afghanistan that Bush left out of the budget will only run from 3 to 6 trillion, mostly benefitting the MIC, over time.
Republicans talk a good game about fiscal responsibility. I want to believe them, truly I do. SOMEBODY has to be for it.
But then I see what they do, which is nowhere near what they say. Even St. Ronnie created a tremendous increase in the size of the federal government, and we probably will never know how many trillions were wasted in the formation of the Big Brother Secret Police (aka Dept. of Homeland Security).
Just imagine the cost of Tom Ridge’s Rainbow of Doom (today’s threat level is orange. don’t ever expect it to change…)
But if you’re going to spend, and both parties are, you have to find a way to pay for it. Democrats raise taxes, Republicans borrow from China. Every head of household knows it’s less painful to borrow than to earn. At least at first…..
My prediction: the public will get tired of the Republicans grinding our economy into the concrete, and will vote them out in 2016. Then the Democrats will find ways to waste money while specifically not helping, and the process will continue to repeat. Meanwhile, John Q. Public is deeper in debt and depression, while our “news” outlets foster hatred towards the “other guys”, making our society more and more polarized. Fortunately more and more guns will be bought.
The Revolution will be televised. But only the parts they want you to see. Sad.
A trillion dollar budget would not be unusual if it were spent in the right places. Its a big country with large costs of infrastructure, education, research, health, domestic security, regulatory. But a disproportionate share of the budget is spent on foreign invasions, maintaining 900 or so military bases worldwide, and asserting America’s foreign presence and business interests abroad. In other words, growing and fostering the empire. Which then invites so-called war on terror, which really isn’t terror attacks, it is nationalists defending their homeland and resources from marauding invaders. But if America really has to do all these things, pay for it, raise taxes to the rich, have all families share in the human costs of military invasions. See then what the priorities become.
The Republicans’ first gift to the banking industry — legislation written by Citibank.-And all the so called “conservatives” are absolutely enthusiastic about it.
