A hot dog ain’t a hot dog without that mustard. (Edit—add advertisement for Jimmy ’s.)

There’s really nothing like a GOOD gas station hot dog (and they’re not all created equal).

Mustard, relish, onions, and sometimes sauerkraut.

My Grandma once asked if I wanted a peanut butter and jelly or a bologna sandwich. I said I wanted bologna. She said, “Well, your getting peanut butter and jelly.”

That stuff they call hot dog sauce (by Hormel) would gag a maggot. The best chili for hot dogs is real chili. Wolf Brand Chili. Even my homemade chile can’t touch it.

“How long’s it been since you had a big, steaming bowl of Wolf Brand Chili? Well, that’s too long.” (Their advertising tag-line.)

See how lucky you are Agnes – fewer decisions than Miss Sugar Cookie.

When you’re rich, you mostly make your own decisions.

When you’re poor, decisions (aside from a limited choice of condiments) mostly get made for you.

Best hotdogs in the world are made in Iceland. Doesn’t matter what you put on them since they taste so good. Hope to get back there someday soon to try another one.

Mustard on hotdogs. yummy. Add raw onions and we’re fine. Or fried onions. Occasionally, add in the sauerkraut. But what I’m really enjoying about Tiny Agnes Sugar Cookie – is that she gets to wear more than that one black dress.

Re: Agnes’s black shirt. It’s always bothered me and now I know why. On a field trip with my son’s first-grade class decades ago I sat next to a little classmate of his. We were in an above-average suburban town, but she was thin, dressed only in jeans and shirt like Agnes’s that hung off her, even though it was a cool cloudy autumn day. Her hair was straggly and she was withdrawn and looked infinitely tired, like she was forty years old. I tried to draw her out, and got her something warmer to wear. But she evidently didn’t have Agnes’s resilience. Or probably someone like Agnes’s grandmother in her life either.
