The “elves” are cosplaying members of Christmas fandom and think they’re on a crafts panel at a long convention. Not only is Santa getting free work, his workers pay a convention “member’s fee” to be there. Some even pay hundreds more to be “super sponsors”.

Little Master Nuttingham is desperate to learn some of Santa’s secrets as a super-successful capitalist. He just cannot comprehend altruism, love, or good magic! So sad. That boy needs a conscience!
