^Who is this “we” of whom you speak? This veteran is not looking forward to unending war on multiple fronts. I also dread the upcoming 9% unemployment and $4/gallon gasoline. I will remind you that “I told you so” when I am proved right.
How about we stop blaming liberals as being the only problem standing in the way of veterans (and conservatives as well), and recognize that poor planning, poor oversight, and poor execution is not exclusive to either end of the political spectrum?
We can point fingers and wail, or we can demand better from our “representatives”.
The toon could represent several of my close friends, but a couple are too high with their amputations to use even the new prosthetics. I’ve spent over three decades working with, and for the disabled, including vets. It would be helpful if more would give more than mere lip service.
It’s “Welcome Home” btw, not “thanks” for things you might live the rest of your life trying to forget what you had to do.(or go through)

Gary Varvel’s depiction of a soldier with prosthetic limbs makes this cartoon even more touching. Good work, Gary!

I think we should thank W and the other ChickenHawks for creating so many veterans, especially disabled ones.

“the soldier is not someone to be revered, the veteran is not someone to be honored”… “The veteran is nothing but a leach”…
Project much? That’s common lib rhetoric you’re spouting there.

And yes, I am an actual veteran who CAN think, that’s why I’m not a leftist.
