@Alexikakos: So from your map of pre-state Texas it means that Mexico, the original possessor of Texas, once extended as far north as Wyoming.

Good morning, vagabonds. Last night’s Chanukah party at my synagogue was wonderful. The latkes and apple sauce was delicious and it was good to see people I haven’t seen since last spring. The mayor of North Miami was also there.

    Morning, Vagabonds.

Alex, that’s a great picture of the old lodge! I love old lodges like that!

You can see from the map that Texas once owned almost half of what is now New Mexico, and a good sized chunk of Colorado as well. Not to mention parts of Oklahoma, Kansas, and Wyoming. Some people even advocated making Santa Fe the capital of Texas!

    Good morning Vagabonds.

Good news from the Cardiologist yesterday. Both our hearts are in good condition. A few things that are normal for people our age and not to cause any problems. My wife’s condition is a little different than mine so he is going to keep a closer eye on her. She is going back in six weeks and I go back in six months. She also went to the eye doctor yesterday and everything is the same. The doctor was very happy about it.Today is an easy one. We only have to go to P/T.

Good morning Vagabonds..We’er still under the clouds, and setting at 32 degrees..All be it I’m not a Mason, I’ve seen a lot of material on Free Masonry, (some of it is poppycock I’m sure). One program I’ve watched on Sci Fi called “Ghost Mine”, a reality show that takes place in Sumpter, Oregon. At the mine called the Cressent. In it they link the local Mason Lodge to the events taking place at the mine and all over town.If you go on Google Earth and put in Sumpter, Oregon you can see the town as well as the Gold Dredge that left a mighty scare on the land scape..Have a wonerful day everybody.ttfn

    Good Morning, Vagabonds,

Had a great luncheon with my Sisters in the Cancer Support Group yesterday. It was held at a local steak house, and over 30 ladies came. Some of which I hadn’t seen all year, and it was good to see how great they all looked. This was a first outing for one gal I’d been praying for, and she looked terrific!

Alex……….glad you provided the link to Bannack State Park. It is the best preserved Ghost Town we’ve seen yet. And, the “Going to the Sun” road is another favorite of ours. They have had a lot of snow problems the last two years. The road finally gets opened around July, and then there’s a blizzard in September!……Thanks, Alex.

Great information about Texas. And, David, the king of western BC? he he he he he

    Have a great day, Everyone!

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

Alex, I would love to join Eastern Star, but all of my Masonic relatives have passed away, so I have no connection anymore.

I would also like to join the DAR. I have my genealogical documents linking me to a private in Washington’s army (his surname was Phillips), except for my Dad’s birth certificate. It shouldn’t be too hard to find. My aunt was a member and really enjoyed the circle of friends she made there.

Gotta have something to do now that I am (almost) retired.

The sun is out and we might get all the way up to 56 today.
