I have to smile about the reference to Lois Lane. I wonder how many casual readers would notice those subtle name references, given that Kandikane’s surname is never mentioned in today’s strip.

She’s a great character design. I love the J-shaped hook at the bottom of her braid. It echoes the candy cane once again.

Not only was that a Shadow reference, but actress Margot Kidder also portrayed Lois Lane in the Superman movies from the 80s. Just a trivia tidbit.

Well, apparently they’ve “cured” him of popping vitamin pills every strip, which means he needs a name change.

He’s lost his defining characteristic.

Great character! Love the middle panel where she says Vitamin is “charmingly eccentric” — while she fiddles with a candy cane between her toes, with her swirling braid also in view. Guess it takes one to know one! Plus the fact that she is Lois and Margot Lane’s sister is a complete hoot.

Where’s Lucy Lane??In this Universe is she a domestic partner of High Rise(as we’ve never sen Jimmy)???

I know Lois was/is Superman’s adored one. But who is Margot? I looked up Batman’s loves but no Margot. I remember The Shadow’s lady was named Margot Lane.

Love the references. Also, Vitamin hasn’t dropped more bodies than everyone on NCIS: LA and Hawaii Five-O combined, unlike Margot’s friend.

And Margo Kidder once played Louis Lane.

I think you mean Lois, unless she played the role of a guy called Louis in some film I’m not familiar with. Hey, after Dame Julie Andrews played Count Victor Grazinski in Victor Victoria, anything is possible.

I wonder if Kandikane has mastered the art of writing with that pen between her toes?

if they can have a fling and make each other happy in the process, why does it matter what anyone else thinks? I’ll bet most guys Vitamins age who would voice their disapproval would find some reason to think it’s all good if they were suddenly thrust into his shoes, lol…..
