The nice thing to do would be to occasionally throw Dad some conversational material he does know something about. Liz would rather be critical than empathetic. None of us likes being in a group we don’t know with the conversational always steered toward people we don’t know.

A lot of people with hearing loss will “check out” of the conversations simply because it’s too difficult to follow.
