The Rod of Asclepius should be the medical symbol but somewhere along the line in history long gone, American military adopted the Caduceus for their medical corps, confusing it with the serpent staff of Asclepius. I think you will find that Americans have been correcting that confusion since. For some reason, in print the confusion remains.
The cartoons that have tried to make a point about ebola have pretty uniformly gotten their facts wrong. Stahler takes the safe route with a cartoon that has no point.
Fatal snake bites mostly in sub-Saharan Africa, roughly 20,000 per year. Snakes win over Ebola in the stats, GO SNAKES!! (C’mon, what chickenhawk war lover will call this comment as encouraging violence against humans?)
