Everything becomes stupid when you exxagerate it to the limit and beyond. Why not make women walk around with “Virgin”, “Married”, “Widowed”, so that one can address them by the proper term : maiden, miss, mrs, widow, hey old bag…
If this were happening anywhere, it would be worth turning into a joke, but it’s based on an urban legend. It isn’t happening. It’s not a real thing. Unclench.
This is not PC. IT’s just crazy. And while there are kids who are more complicated gender-wise, and they should never be shamed (as has been the practice in too many places), they still get called boys and girls.

Someone said yesterday to just call them “children.” That’s an old, time-honored form address, so it works for me.
