While she does seem to have a Cinderella complex unable to pick the right shoe to influence the public debate, she’s still better than the Jeff Daniels/ Jim Carrey characters the Republicans provide. (Or their Rip Van Reagan flashbacks.)
After the last two stinkers, we should be looking for the next Washington, Lincoln or FDR. If we are willing to elect ANY of the candidates being considered so far by EITHER party, we are so screwed….
NONE of them have a thing to recommend them for the highest office in this land.
Some are worse than others. A few laughably so.
You can probably guess which group she is in..
Of course we could always just change the national motto to “Hey – it could be worse.”
Robert Heinlein suggested that only those who had proved their willingness to sacrifice for their country should be allowed citizenship. He was talking about voluntary Federal service. Not just the Military but unconditional service to their fellow citizens. Others had all the privileges and protections under the constitution but couldn’t vote or hold public office. I don’t see how that could be worse than what we endure today.
I can’t help but believe, based on the complete absence of this kind of sniping when Bush II was considering running, that this has a lot to do with her being a woman.
I have no complaint about her running as long as she runs as a republican. If she runs as a democrat, I will vote against her. I’m sick of being sold out by faux democrats and then taking the blame for a basically republican agenda down the road. It doesn’t really matter: our voting process is sold to the highest bidder. Both parties are run by unelected hacks who have sold out to big money and will only run right wing war-mongers who belong to big money. We’re screwed.
