A far more rational course, getting a coalition, using “advisors”, seeking out the actual bad guys, not a whole nation, or two, and even trying to make Congress do their job they keep whining about, but don’t “stay the course” themselves on.
The timetable set by the Bush administration ALSO included a set of prerequisites that should have been achieved prior to abandoning the area. Those prerequisites were NOT achieved and the result is exactly as warned by that same Bush administration prior to leaving office.

So the burden was on Bush to accurately predict the future 4 years in advance as opposed to Obama reacting to what is happening AT THE PRESENT MOMENT.
