Good drawings today for a Boopsie ogle!

I just wanted to say that I really like the look of Doonesbury right around this period. The drawings had finally settled down and shed their last traces of awkwardness. It was a full-bodied, rounded style but without the polished, opulent look that Carlton’s inks started giving it in the late ’80s when Trudeau switched to a multiple-perspective format. This gave it a sort of breezy, casual quality that downplayed the craft and confidence behind it.

GT is busy working on Amazon series.

Peregrino: The joke is that so many people ordered exactly what Boopsie wanted that they gave it a number – the only exception being that an “E-47” apparently is motorized somehow, and Boopsie, being the “simple” creature that she is ;) didn’t request that.
