“Wrong! if obamcare goes thru we may as well all eat s–t”
Oh noes, the horror of subsidies for healthcare and a smidgeon of regulation on an industry that has been ripping people off for decades.
Seriously, man, what exactly is so freakishly terrifying about the “Obamacare” proposals? You can still freely choose insurers, you don’t get even the option of a public healthcare plan, the majority of the people will see their costs decrease (due to the subsidies), and between regulations and a larger insured pool, costs would be easier to rein in. It’s not nearly as good as it could have been if Obama and the dems actually had gotten their way, but it could be worse.
Canuckie, where’d you get that rumor about Mrs. Palin from?
In a speech to the Fraser Institute in Calgary, Palin told a story about her brother burning his ankle, and the family crossing the border to get him treated in Whitehorse. BUT, this was in the 1960s, before universal health care was instituted in Canada. She may have been trying to say that our health care was better before it went universal (ie: her family would come then, but not now), but the reports I have read on the speech are not clear on this point. Oddly, Palin told the same story in a 2007 interview, except the family did not come to Canada in that version. She is a flakey lady.
It is a great act, sadly we suffer for it.
it is as tho, the fundamentalist god looked down on these uknighted states and would not allow nationalized health care, banks, energy, while all else on the globe CAN.

The elephant is always a tough act to follow, particularly if you’re pushing a broom. But hey, it beats leaving show business!

FITZ- Nice take on a old joke, but if the GOP gets back in power the joke (and elephant s–t) will be on us.

An interesting pun, or a spelling abomination?

He’s using it elsewhere, so I think it must be intentional. What about “Benighted States”?

Much more accurate than the one with Edwards.
