Why is foul language referred by ‘polite’ society as french? Does this turn of phrase imply that french fries are foul, that a french horn is impolite, or that a french maid outfit is indecent….OK maybe that is true but we men like to watch the female maid work for a living in any uniform she would be wearing.

The bird obviously has nothing to crow about; but then if I stubbed my toe as bad as him my beak would be bent out of shape too.
