Morning, Vagabonds. Very true, Arye, on both counts.
And I, for one, get very impatient with those who minimize Columbus’ achievement simply because someone else did it before. The eventual colonization, settlement, and establishment of the New World resulted from Columbus’ discoveries, not those of any predecessors.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING.Huh, what? Oh, that’s Canada!Never mind..Answers to the song trivia from the weekend: 1) “Love and Marriages” 2) “I’m Sitting on Top of the World” (told you I was being literal) 3) The theam to the Andy Griffith Show “Fishin’ Hole” and 4) “Monster Mash”..I’d have to say there were at lest three discoveries of America, the last being Columbus, the Norse are believed to have been in Newfoundland before Columbus, and when the ancestors of the First Americans came from Asia..Y’all have a good holiday. Three day weekends are few..ttfn
Columbus sure was a great explorer! I cannot imagine the voyage through uncharted waters! Hurray for Columbus!
We’re heading out to Yellowstone tomorrow. We love it when the park is closed down for the winter. Hardly anyone is there causing traffic jams. The animals are heading for lower ground for the winter and are more visible. We have yet to see a bear in the park in all the years we’ve been there. (maybe this time?)
Rita, my one regret from our trip to Yellowstone was that we did not see a bear. From your comment, I guess we weren’t as unusual as I thought.
Another beautiful day here in our desert paradise. It’s only supposed to get up to about 83 today.
For those of you with pets to protect, I found a new product called Purr…fect Fence which creates an unobtrusive and escape-proof enclosure (mostly for cats). Anything from a small dome-tent like structure to fencing in an entire back yard. The website is fun to peruse, anyway. (www.purrfectfence.com)

Happy Columbus Day, Vagabonds. And Columbus did discover America for Europeans and he may have had Jewish roots.
