I love “Orange Is The New Black” on Netflix so I got today’s B.C. reference right away. But I think ALL cartoonists should stick with humor that everyone can understand and leave current cultural events [like t.v. shows, for instance] out of the comics because not everyone IS going to get it — which is grossly unfair to them. I think humor that makes ALL the people smile and/or laugh when they read the comics is [or at least SHOULD be] a much more important goal for the cartoonists than showing their readers just how “with the times” they [supposedly] are. But that’s just my opinion, of course.

I’m just thinking now about all those newspapers,and online comics that don’t have a comment section..They would look at this cartoon and go “WHAT?”
