Hey, since FOX news does so well, Sarah will probably be a hit among conservatives. Rick Perry is sure to start a fan club.

Why not? The Republicans are spending a lot more than that trying to make sure smart people can’t vote.

“Don’t you mean romney/obama care? After all, it WAS Mitten’s idea in the first place…”Credit where credit is due, dear sir. The Heritage Foundation first came up with original ideas that were used as a basis for Romney/Obamacare. Gingrich championed it in Congress as an alternative to the proposed Hillarycare. Romney later instituted it during his time as governor of MA. Obama proposed it at the national level instead of the liberal preferred single payer, at which time all those who had supported it in the past suddenly thought it was a horrible idea.

A little lesson on the origins of the “death panels”:

When a patient is at the end of life, when it is known that death is imminent, there are many questions concerning treatments and their relative benefits/liabilities, both for the patient and for the family. The person who can answer the majority of these questions most competently, in most cases, is the patient’s doctor.

A congressman (curiously, a Republican) wrote a clause and inserted it into Obamacare, which allowed that the doctor could be paid for the time and expertise shared in these discussions with family. Simple and rational, eh?

Nope, now we’re paying for “death panels”. The congressman who proposed a simple and logical procedure was called on the carpet, told to remove it, and to disavow his reason for inserting it.

From there, things went just a little more “off-center”.
