I am so glad that W put the time in clearing brush so Obama would have more places to golf. ~~

This whole golf thing is tedious. Eisenhower played golf some 800 times during his presidency.

It has always disturbed me that after begging for millions of dollars in order to get a 4 to 8 year job position with pay, benefits, and the most extravagant pension for which a person might ever ask, we see so many days of vacation and/or fund raising. It has gotten worse over the decades, and I understand the job of President is stressful, HOWEVER…All of these men ASKED, even BEGGED, for this job. They PROMISED to WORK for the American people. IF the economy was good, if Americans were happily involved with jobs or other projects, if the world political situation wasn’t so dire, if our Veterans weren’t being ignored and set aside, if legitimate concerns about disease, climate change, immigration, education, et al, were being dealt with or even settled… then I say, God Bless Them. Golf, fish, clear firewood, go horseback riding, sailing, or whatever else you want. But if you’re the fire chief and the city’s on fire, you don’t go golfing. If you’re the General, and your soldiers are in harms way, you don’t go fishing. If you’re the ‘boss’, and the factory is in disrepair and going bankrupt, you don’t take vacation. You just don’t.I know other Presidents have done the same. This President promised us change. We need a new precedent. How many vacation days did Lincoln take? The Roosevelt’s, T and FD?A working vacation where work is ACCOMPLISHED is one thing, but to just relax with so much tension was wrong in pass administrations and is wrong now.Respectfully,C.

He could try not playing golf. He could almost do anything else and it would be an improvement. Say your house caught fire. If you saw the fire truck pull in at the Dairy Queen down the street instead of coming to put out the blaze, would you think ‘Oh well. They’ve been working so hard and deserve a Slushie. My house was going to burn down anyway.’? I suggest you get your sense of priorities straightened out.

old953, I am glad, and glad you pointed it out. And you are right, he has taken fewer days off, passed fewer executive orders, and deported more illegal aliens. Sadly, his adversaries and critics, especially those in the media, are getting too many people to ignore those truths. However, I felt this way during other administrations and just wanted to vent. A president never has to work again after leaving office unless he wants to. And I would like to see more images of this president walking into congressmen’s offices and then coming out to tell reporters how the meeting went. I’d like to see him invite some of the people outside of the White House to come inside and talk to them, see what he can do to help them. I want to SEE him working instead of golfing. We have serious problems and I want to see him pushing against the obstructionists even if it means going to conservative districts and having six hour town hall meetings to explain his side.Something has to give.Thank you for your reply. I do agree with you.Sincerely,C.

It IS amazing how many rounds of golf Boehner gets in while keeping the House totally disfunctional, or working AGAINST the peoples needs.

Yeah, because it would be so much better to be first in line, even if that meant criticizing someone you voted for when you really wanted to give him another chance -or two.

Good point, Martens.I have written two letters to Mr. Boehnor, and one each to McConnall, Pelosi, and Reid. I’ve also sent several emails to these legislators. I’ve never had a reply and as I’m not in their states, or donor lists, I doubt my efforts were even read.I can only hope that those who do live in their districts will take the time to write and express their opinion on how our gov’t is spending its time and money.Sincerely,C.

    1. I voted for Barack Obama twice.2. I drew the above cartoon.3. The view of the president I expressed in the cartoon wasarrived at reluctantly.4. I’m aware that this “meme” as you define ithas been addressed by others, but I didn’tand won’t criticize the president for somethingsimply because others are. I drew the cartoon because I believe at this point Obama truly isdisengaged.
