Wow, Ruthie, it takes you awhile to get the right words out, but you do get close eventually. (I kind of think of some lawsuits as a load of, uh, coleslaw myself, but then, I’m not a lawyer…)

So when do we get the first million-dollar lawsuit where the school officials are charged with preventing a kid from learn how to deal with risks.

They take away the playground equipment because the kids might get hurt, then they go to gym class and play dodgeball, where the whole object was for the big kids to hurt the smaller kids.

“Coleslaw!” Is that from the Antonin Scalia School of Law Oratory?

I think they should put warnings on every bag of ice to let people know about the danger of frostbite. Lol

Sometimes my walks take me past the playground area of a local park (I think the oldest of the city’s 55 parks). It used to have swings and some contraption for the kids to climb around on.Today, everything is torn down (talk about timing by this strip).Next to it are two signs: one saying a new playground is coming, and the other that it is part of the parks improvement project. As far as I know, a lawsuit had nothing to do with it.

As I recall we played with three balls. The bigger kids on one side would hold the balls until they had all three, then they would point out a smaller kid on the other side and all three would throw at that one kid as hard as they could. I saw kids get bloody noses, and I saw kids get knocked off their feet and dazed so they had to be helped off.
