Not having any children of cartoon age in the immediate vicinity, I have managed to avoid seeing it. I imagine as great-granddaughter gets older I will have to replace my dvd player and get movies for her.
I love cartoon and I do like well placed songs. But this one was way too much. Too many songs, not enough humour, too much drama and pain just exagerated in every senses. But I did like the ending, love of a family is good love too.

It’s based partly on Hans Andersen tales after all.The Little Match Girl, The Little Mermaid, The Red Shoe all end in death and sadness.

Yeah, I can’t see what all the hype was about. I watched it with my grandkids and even they were bored.
