Great to have the Sunday comic back. And nice color scheme. I thought the punch line was going to be Mutt and Jeff catching the train and then having the old man tell them, after a discussion of where they were going, that they had hopped on to a train going in the opposite direction.

Taking a rifle on the train?In 1948 we went from Quincy, Ill. to Wenatchee, Wash. by train, and dad wanted to deliver a rifle to a relative. Was told to just break it down and package it so it didn’t look like a firearm. (The train to Chicago is now in the Museum of Science and Industry)(Chicago to Wenatchee on the Empire Builder – that name still in use!)
