Amazingly high poll numbers considering the complete lack of co-operation in Congress, litigation to stop action, right wing negative media blitz, and the non-stop investigation of created scandals.
The polls on the approval ratings of Congress are around 15%. It really makes the President’s 40-50% look rather good. Personally I would give Congress about a 0%. I have lived through many Congresses and have never seen such a dysfunctional mess. The most they seem to be able to manage is to commemorate some day or person on the very few days they manage to be in session.
The GOP can’t even raise the gas tax, because of a promise they made to Grover Norquist. So instead they use a much more expensive method of weakening private pensions for ten years to pay for a ten month extension of highway construction, with NO plan to ever pay for it again in the future. The Republicans should leave government if they refuse to govern or let other people govern.
Your point is that Obama is doing better than the House in terms of approval. Which is like saying Richard Speck is more popular than Jeffrey Dahmer. As to Bush signing the bill…so? Bush did a number of things. Some indifferent. Most assinine. That bill however was designed to help kids and no one could have foreseen this circumstance. I don’t fault Obama for trying to help these kids. Why are you trying to fault Bush for trying something similar? It looks like Lisa’s point isn’t the only one that’s meaningless and petty
And the liberals keep trying to blame the child immigration crisis on Wilberforce and Bush, jr, when the bill was passed and signed in December 2008, when Obama, having been elected in November 2008, was completely responsible.--I am in my early 70’s and sometimes have trouble putting together a coherent sentence, but this statement of yours leaves me totally confused..How is it that Obama “was completely responsible” because of “having been elected in November 2008”? Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe he wasn’t inaugurated until January 20, 2009. Have you considered that?.Further, you intimate that he was the only Senator (“absent from the vote”) who did NOT vote for the bill. How does that support your contention?.Please help this senile old fart understand your point.

The poll numbers for Congress are down. But, everyone loves their own Representative. It is the same old story: We have to dump them all, except mine.
