You can see why her dad is such a successful businessman. He told her just what she needed to hear. She was acting out of emotion. True emotions can should be part of a woman’s allure but you don’t run a prosperous business using emotion.

That approach must have worked on Mary Lou’s mother.

This really gives us a glimpse of Mary Lou’s toughness and adaptability. She has gotten over the Daddy thing a while ago and now sees him as a loved one who has a way of talking. Her face says she means it when she says it was a good talk.

Mary Lou was told Gus’ reason and that he was thinking of her and that he misses her and needs her.She is satisfiedFOR THE MOMENTCan’t expect much more, especially out of people who think Gus has to do what we would do despite the fact we never would do what he does every day.

Local restaurants that have announced their last day ahead of time seem to have an explosion of customers trying to get in under the wire. Despite that, most keep their final plans a deep dark secret until they turn out the lights at the end. I wonder why? (Are they avoiding creditors?)

    Where is Mary Lou’s mother?

If I recall correctly, she died before Mary Lou and her dad were introduced to us in the strip, back when Mary Lou and Gene were around 12 years old.
