Interesting story. I think maybe we all have some of them. I had an uncle (not Scott) who deserted his family. He worked around the area as an itinerant farm worker. His wife and children were reduced to living with th family of the oldest daughter. As was explained to me, ‘The family disowned him.’ After about 20 years,he died of cancer. Somebody from the Coroner’s office managed to locate his wife and asked if she wanted the body. Her answer—‘Why the h#’ll should I?’ So the guy got donated to the State Medical Board for dissection practice.

Sad the crowd failed to goad her into diving to her untimely death. (Not that jumping off the diving board usually kills)
