That goodness I’ve never had a casted leg or arm… or full body. Casts sure make it uneasy when you’ve an itch under there.

Using the metal hanger will do perfectly fine to scratch inside a casted leg.

I have a niece who, when she was young, had a cast on her arm. Whe they went to take it off they found several pens and pencils inside from where she had scratched at itches.

Yeah, I remember that when I had a cast on my arm as a kid. Used a long comb mostly but would take anything that reached down there.

My mom was in a leg cast for six month (really bad break) - and she used coat hangars.

Oh boy, can I relate! I used to use the long thin strips of metal for putting alarm strips in books in our library. No sharp ends like a hangar!

I’ve never had a cast (knock on my hard head), but everyone’s comments are sure making me itch all over!

if you remember solarcaine spray , i used that to help relieve the itch in my cast

I had a cast from my toes to my knee for a broken ankle. I used a dowel to itch. And my mom couldn’t figure out how I was able to take baths. I just propped my right leg on the side of the tub!! It was heaven when the cast was removed!!!!!!

Knitting needles worked good. They come in several lengths so maybe you can find one the length you need.

I don’t like these anymore.

Metal coat hangers shapped to work with bandages on the ends. These kind of casts are hardly ever used any more. New flexing and air ones don’t have to problems. Eval K. used to cut them off after the first day, which was even nuttier than his jumps.

I remember when I broke my leg the night before my 21st birthday. My dad told me about the coat hanger trick when I had an itch. The only problem was he didn’t tell me about how not to get it caught in the lining of the cast! The night he had people at the house for a business dinner I got a hanger caught and couldn’t get it out. It wasn’t funny then but we laugh about it now.

lbbear has a good idea. Use a coat hanger.

At least she didn’t say head lice….

the new modern casts are plastic, light weight and don’t seem to have the same effect of itching.
