He sure is hell a lot more involved that the Republican Representatives who seem to have trouble showing up for work and actually doing anything when they are in Washington.
Right. “Obama is doing too much! Obama is doing to little!” Make up your minds, but remember that Obama spends ten times the hours on his job that any member of the House does. They’ve worked less than any congress in history.
“But then Bush didn’t play golf during Katrina, or pool,”
No, he was at John McCain’s house in Arizona, celebrating the Senator’s birthday. Don’t believe me? There are pictures of both of them smiling and posing around a cake while Katrina was pummeling New Orleans.
Dubya’s fly-by was a few days later. He did, however, stop by Jackson Square to give a speech about how the government was going to help. Then the generators were shut off, the stage lights were packed up, the president left, and the city was left on its own to deal in the dark with looters, heat, and lots and lots of water.
You give Dubya way too much credit for not wanting to get in the way. He was so far out of the way that he thought Brownie was doing a heckuva job.
