    Good Morning, Vagabonds,

We have had non-stop partying going on! And, that means non-stop EATING!!!!! One more day here in San Diego, and then we all go our separate ways! We’ve said some “good byes” today, and the rest tomorrow, and then we head home on Wednesday.

The wedding was absolutely fabulous, and of course, the Bride was beautiful and the Groom quite handsome! They will be on their way to Paris on Wednesday. (They’ll always have Paris! sigh)

We have to go through Utah, and they are celebrating their Pioneer Days, when the Mormons made it over the hill to settle in Salt Lake City. Sooooooooo……there should be all kinds of disruptions in travel for all the festivities. Don’t know if it will affect us or not.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

I posted this a couple of days ago, but I suspect it was after everyone else had come and gone so I am posting it again.

Sad to say, one of my all time favorite actors has passed away. James Garner was always a little wry and good-natured in the roles he played. I heard he tried to play a villain in a few movies and/or shows later in his life, but I never saw him that way. To me he will always be Bret Maverick or Jim Rockford.

So, since Mark didn’t do a trivia question this week, let’s keep with the James Garner theme:

    1. In what movie did he play opposite Sally Field?2. In what TV series did he have a recurring role in 2005?3. Who played his brother Bart in the TV series “Maverick”?4. In what 1996 movie did he costar with Jack Lemmon and Dan Ackroyd?5. In what movie did he play Wyatt Earp opposite Bruce Willis’ Tom Mix?6. In what remake of “My Favorite Wife” did he star opposite Doris Day?7. How many of his co-stars in “The Great Escape” can you name?

    Good morning Vagabonds.

Rita: Glad you are living it up and having a good time. Now you can go home and recuperate.

Jan: Sorry to hear about all your dental work. It must have been unpleasant. Hope the rest of it will go all right.l

    Hope all are well.

    Morning, Vagabonds.

These are some really tough questions, Jan. Without looking it up. I can attempt a couple of them.Number 3 is Jack Kelly. I remember that.Number 7 – James Coburn, David McCallum, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson. It’s hard to think this early in the morning.

Howdy one and all..Triple H weather here in the Green Mountains..Vell, I’ll’a tell ya Jan, I’m better at asking questions then answering them. I look around IMDb, I saw the names David gave us for “The Great Escape”.I will go out on a limb and say #2 is “Eight Simple Rules.”Jan, you say he did not play many villains, He did give voice to a villain in “Atlantis, the Lost Empire”..My computer is acting up so I better give this up..ttfn

David you are correct on #3 and #7 (there are two more names that I had in mind as well)

Mark, “Eight Simple Rules” is correct, also.

I’ll be back this afternoon to supply the rest of the answers. The funny thing about these questions is that I have seen all of the movies and would list most of them as favorites (probably because of Garner). And, yes, I have all five of them on DVD.

He made another movie with Doris Day called “The Thrill of It All” where he plays an obstetrician whose wife (Doris, of course) becomes the TV spokeswoman for a brand of soap. It is one of her “battle of the sexes” comedies and very funny.

Hi, Everyone,We are in a “lull” between events, so I want to enter Jan’s trivia contest. Some answers were already given, so here is my 2 cents worth:

    1. Murphy’s Romance4. My Fellow Americans5. Sunset6. Move Over Darling7. besides those mentioned ……Donald Pleasance, Richard Attenborough,

There are two other really good films he did……The Americanization of Emily with Julie Andrews, and 36 Hours with Eva Marie Saint. And, of course, the two Support movies were silly, and gosh, I could go on and on! Dang……..what a terrific actor he was!
