    Wind blowing in the direction indicated by the rain as drawn would not invert that umbrella.

    Al S., they did invent a better umbrella. It was clear plastic and had a longer dome that fit over the head and torso. It worked, but people thought they looked silly so the never really caught on. Also, there’s one selling now called the Senz storm umbrella that is 10 times more resistant to wind than a regular umbrella.
