I’m confused. Is he reserving Doctor Ook for his dining pleasure, (as the picture on the wall depicts), or is he Doctor Ook?

If there are kids reading this comic then I’m sure they have heard/read worse than “big tubas.” Heck, I had a five year old flip me the bird last year!

I worked with a group of Doctors awhile back. Most of them weren’t the pompous type and I didn’t mind referring to them as Doctor - some even said to call them by their first name when we weren’t in front of patients. There was one, fresh out of medical school, who thought that he was something else and corrected me when I called him by his first name, “I’m DOCTOR X”. I politely informed him that he could refer to me as “MISTER T” after that. His attitude toward all of the staff improved after that.

Good on you. These guys just know more chemistry than the rest of us, and after watching House I’m wondering if any of them know anything:) My sister, a biological chemist, refers to them as “just the meds”.

I think somebodyshort was correct on this one (having been there). The Dr had no reservations and wants to impress his hot date by getting preferential treatment-simple but a good one! Actually paying for eating a meal where it was provided by strangers did not occur until towns and cities developed which were connected by roads. Those did not serve locals, but travelers, but that doesn’t matter here;-)

I think they learned that their fans did not like left wing comments. I have never particularly cared for “country” music, but I agree that performers and other similar people should keep their opinions private if they want to please the public in general. Some of us will always disagree;-)

Ah, but the DC got theirs back; the fans stuck with them.

What do they call the guy who graduated at the bottom of his class in Med. School?

    Doctor!
