    @ LuvH8 – The glasses would make the bean-counters look like three-dimensional, humanoid creatures who might actually CARE about something besides maximizing profits for the corporate masters.

    Ugh, I hate Accounting. They’re the ones that make my job so hard. As a systems admin it’s part of my job to protect the computers against malicious software, and the bean counters won’t let me install up-to-date anti-virus software because it would cost the company a high INITIAL payout to buy the necessary license. So instead I do what I can by hand and earn time-and-a-half for the work and cost the company more in a month than what they’d pay for a year long license. Intelligence and foresight must not be requirements.

    @HighPriestMikhal, you need to budget the actual costs over the past year or two, and put that against the costs had you purchased the license. Show them the bottom line, and they might reconsider. Or take it over their heads and go to the CFO or CEO…
