They supposedly “first heard of inappropriate action by the IRS in media reports” and now this, despite multiple reports from the VA to the White House for years:
“When was the president first made aware of these problems?” CNN’s Jim Acosta asked. “These fraudulent lists that were being kept to hide the wait times?”
Carney said he learned about it from watching CNN reports.
“You mean the specific allegations that were first reported by your network out of Phoenix? I believe we learned about them through reports,” Carney said. “That’s when, as I understand, Secretary [Eric] Shinseki learned about them.”
Once again, they’re either lying or completely incompetent.Where’s the outrage Libs?Where’s your little mantra, “He lied and people died!”?
“Fact is boots on the ground for wars are more important than supporting them when the wars over.”We’ll see how this plays out. The conservatives finally have something approximating a real scandal. Obama made promises to improve the VA & clearly fell short of the mark. Of course, his predecessors have all done the same..When Paul Krugman claimed the VA was an example of how good single payer health care could be, conservatives were quick to point out problems at the VA. They weren’t so quick to fix those problems. The VA has been neglected for decades. Neither party has made a concerted effort to make sure our veterans get top notch care. This doesn’t absolve Obama, but any Republican who was in office before 2012 is complicit.Only fools will look at this as a partisan issue.
So, the president first heard of the problem in news reports last week, after he talked about the problem in 2009. Ignorant of the world and a short memory.
Lisa keeps forgetting that it was Bush-Cheney who create the overwhelming number of new veterans needing health care thats what broke the system,I should know I am one of those vets.
HA!ONCE AGAIN THE BLAME BUSH CROWD IS OUT FOR RECESS!You people do realize that O has been President for 5 1/2 YEARS, right?Grow up and take some responsibility for once! That goes for Barry AND his supporters.
Speaking of legacies: Jimmy Carter is still working with Habitat for Humanity, although he’s well into his 80s. Mr. Reagan made some speeches. Poppy Bush has worked with Mr. Clinton to provide humanitarian aid and to stimulate young people to be creative in trying to solve mankind’s problems. The Shrub is painting his feet while he’s in the bathtub.

Yes, the VA had these problems before Obama, and he campaigned on this issue. How did it get better 5 years into his regime?

Those who are offended by folks blaming Bush for his actions, must also have great anger for those who blame Ted Bundy for his.
