So, Luann’s voyage into the “unknown” will be done in familiar surroundings… – And Nancy will pick up where she left off… but preferably not in Luann’s room… – And Frank’s consoling is like a velvet hug…. From a hedgehog….or like finding relief from an itch.. After rubbing against a thorny hedge… – Ah… the same old sun shines, upon a brand new day!

Good job by Greg having Bern’s new ’do in the first panel, since Sunday strips are usually drawn in advance of daily strips.

@ShagsCA, while my dad was a cop, he always came to my sister’s or my graduations in uniform.

Now that they’ve all graduated and are going in different directions, many of them will never see each other again, unless they run into each other by coincidence. And of course, there’s always the class reunion. I graduated in 1988 and my former class has already had three reunions—the 10th, 20th, and the 25th, all of which I have attended. Up next: the 30th reunion. Still don’t know if I’ll go to that one. But I said that I wouldn’t to go my 25th and still went, anyway. So. . .

Tune in next Sunday, when LuAnn is accidentally bitten by a radioactive lab animal, gains super-powers and becomes a costumed crimefighter in the all-new strip: “LuAnn Goes Off The Rails!”

Knute is being his usual flakey self in panel 1, and Bernice is tossing the mortarboard, while Brad and Toni congratulate Luann. Toni has certainly helped make a man out of Brad! Meanwhile, Frank goes just a little too far in attempting to console Nancy on the “loss” of her daughter. Yeah, happy Father’s Day, Frank….

Think about how the strip has progressed with Luann actually aging as opposed to most comics, makes e wonder if he will keep that up and she will make her parents grandparents in maybe 10 years. Ok, I called it.

    (1) possible answer: "Depends on if she can finally transfer to Moony (if that’s the goal) and if there’s a dorm spot opened up (everyone going is likely to already have an assignment by then)….. - (2) For now, the common consensus opinion seems to be that it’s called “Pitts Community College” as it would seem to be named after the community (unless Mr. Evans had been searching for a name between strips)…

Junior, or community, college is little more than remedial stuff covering what you should’ve already learned in high school. An Associates degree is better than no degree at all, but you’re mostly just getting your 100 and 200 level credits out of the way before transferring to a real college (and paying real tuition).

At what point does life begin?A. At the moment of conception;B. Can’t say for sure, but certainly by the time of birth, and probably much sooner;C. When the kids leave home and the dog dies.

Remember a few years ago when it was Brad graduating? Time marches on. My daughter graduates next week. I am glad that she is marching into a new phase of her life, but I will still picture her getting on the school bus for her first day of kindergarten. She was just as confident then as she is now.

See y’all later! ;)-———————————-“Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore, While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.” (From “The Raven” by Edgar Allan Poe, 1809-1849)

Also Chuck Noll (of the Pittsburgh Steelers)… – Here is his page at Wiki, for anyone’s reference… he was a prominent NFL player and head coach in the NFL… – And though he coached for a team that has a “rivalry” with the team I root for (the Ravens), that of course gets put to the side, and my heart goes out to his family and I hope for their well being and would like to extend my condolences to them!

The period of time between graduation and September, most girls and some boys make a drastic change toward being a mature adult, as anyone who has worked with that age group will tell you. Luann may not cook dinner every night, but she will make effort to work with her mother as a team around the house. She will take on more responsibility without being asked or nagged. If she doesn’t, Nancy and Frank are long overdue in their own discipline which is: NEVER do for a child what the child can do for their self. Come September, Luann will often have to put college work first, but she will still do her best to find time to contribute to the functioning of the household, that is if Nancy and Frank can let go enough to allow her to get to that point.
