That was, in fact, the hairstyle the Scott Stantis drew on Sarah for the first couple of years of The Buckets. Back around 1991 and 1992.

She finally quit after Toby raided the cafeteria of all the powdered jello and doused himself. Things went horribly wrong when Cook threw both baking soda and vinegar at Toby.

I doubt that it was any one incident in itself that led to her resignation. More likely it was an accumulation of aggravation, and the ‘plague’ incident was probably the tipping point.
