Andy could be a mattress tester or a beer critic for a newspaper. He’s a natural for both.

He would probably be fired for being late for work on his first day of work as a mattress tester because he overslept due too much beer testing the night before.

You’re only human. Believe it or not, There have been times when I’ve needed my eyes back too. An example of this is what I mentioned on the 21st October, 2013 Andy Capp strip. -Never saw that show you are referring to but I bet it was cute. -The weather was HORRIBLE here yesterday. It was raining very heavily, thunder and lightening and hailstone. Guess who got caught in it? My hair and face were DRIPPING! The coat I had on used to be waterproof but it’s not anymore. -I didn’t go to see the horses yesterday because of the weather. If this is Colorado’s revenge on my part of the UK for sending them bad weather then mission accomplished. Haha.-Happy “Finally” Friday to you as well.

Nobody would want a job where you have to kill or be killed. We lure our young people to join the military by promising to teach them a skill that will serve them later in civilian life. The fact is that when and if they return, many of them (who still have all their body parts) find that they are not qualified for anything more than the bottom rung of the ladder. Who hasn’t heard “Be all you can be – in the Army”? We recruit them with false promises.

“You’d be muttering Suckerrr as the starry eyed kid leaves your office with his copy of his own signed death warrant in his hand.”.Some of us can be regimented and bossed about; some of us can’t I would be absolutely useless in the armed forces, because adrenaline causes me to seize up and If I think the person giving the orders is a complete w.nk.er, I would tell him so. Besides which, If I didn’t agree with the “war” I wouldn’t be able to find an enemy.

@GweedoI keep seeing news stories about returning vets who can’t find jobs. Their main skills are in combat roles for which there is not much demand back home.

It’s nice to know those who would rather have others defend their lives and rights, yet call themselves citizens of the country. Like Franklin said “those who would give up their liberty for a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety”. And to belittle those who are willing to put themselves on the line to protect you shows you don’t deserve their sacrifice.
