Playing on their motto at the time, we used to say of ATT, “We may be the phone company in town but we try not to act like it.”

My sister works for Time Warner Cable, and now that Comcast has bought TWC out, she’s afraid that she may very well lose her job. She will learn one way or the other at the end of the year.

Or try Dish. It put the fear of God into Suddenlink. Made them add dozens of HD channels after resisting for years in my area and seeing satellite dishes sprouting up all over the city like dandelions! All of a sudden Suddenlink started answering the phone too. Competition, its a wonderful thing.

Comcast has the worst performance record of all cable companies. Time Warner has the worst customer service of all time. It’s the perfect merger.

Or you can get over the air local channels for free and stream the rest of your content for half the price — leaving that arrogant cable company out in the cold.

That’s what my husband and I have been doing for the last year-and-a-half. I still miss some things, like House Hunters on HGTV, for example, that I haven’t been able to find streaming anywhere online, but when you’ve got Netflix, Hulu Plus and Amazon Prime, there’s still plenty of other stuff to watch in its place.
