Schulz was a man of many talents.

And his inspiration lives on this morning.

Wish I wasn’t so old…I’ll bet that Peanuts will still be around in a hundred years !

I think the secret was in Snoopy’s ears.

And then he added that basement…

Ah, the days when newspapers came with multiple sheets of full size comics, not a single sheet with the comics much reduced in size that you get today.

Snoopy’s doghouse includes a Van Gogh painting and a pool table among other things. He probably spends a certain amount of his waking time inside, but of course it would be silly to sleep inside. (There was an old episode where Charlie Brown was worried about Snoopy out in the cold. He and Linus discuss it. Linus says, “I have a suggestion. Why doesn’t Snoopy sleep inside his doghouse?” Both Snoopy and Charlie Brown give Linus a pitying look. Linus, chagrined, says, “You’re right, that was a very silly suggestion.”)

…and we still miss you Sparky.

Maybe he likes to sleep on top of his house so he can better see possible attacks by the Red Baron? ;)

That’s the most sophisticated thing Rover’s ever thought.
