Fast & Furious – previous administration. Benghazi, IRS, Obamacare – no real issues. NSA – needs some attention. Chris Christie – lying liar who hasn’t been caught. Yet.
Sorry, but I have to disagree with you here. Most Americans are moderate. However, I’m not seeing a lot of media sources that are. Fox and it’s ilk pander to the right. But there are definitely those that pander to the left. New York Times. Washington Post. Most of the major networks. We don’t have a news media. We have party propoganda machines.
While I’ll agree some of the sources have a bias, there are definitely some with an agenda. But whether it’s bias or agenda related, it is still unacceptable. When your job is an impartial reporting of facts, and you let any kind of prejudice interfere or dictate the performance of that job, you have failed in your profession. The fact that there is even a noticable bias is indicative of a professional failure.
As to your second point, I don’t really think you can say the majority of Americans are liberal. Most are moderate in their outlook.
As to putting extremists into corners: are you sure you really want to endorse that practice? There are extremists on both sides. And neither group is very appealing.
I’m using ‘liberal’ in the sense of a political party, which I thought was the standard use on these boards. But I’ll concede the point if that is the definition of ‘liberal’ you are using.
One day, we brag about how many people watch Faux News, and then the next day, we complain about how the “mainstream media” refuse to carry water for the right wing.
I guess “mainstream” doesn’t mean “popular, widespread” but rather “intelligent” and “responsible.”
Basically, yeah. Fast & Furious was nothing, Benghazi was a tragedy that has been thoroughly covered, the IRS “scandal” was nothing, NSA goes back to Bush and has also been covered daily for a year, and Obamacare is working great despite the GOP’s resistance. Christie’s abuse of power and bullying will get its fifteen minutes, and then fade.

I guess that’s why twice as many people watch FOX than CNN and MSNBC combined.
