Last time Iran took one of these six month deals it was to replace all their obsolete and worn out nuke making equipment…

The report I heard says Iran will submit to daily random inspections and immediately diluting the uranium it has already enriched. There was more but that is the most important. Cynicism and threats insults the very principles of diplomatic negotiations. Trust but verify is in place, and the international community is totally onboard with the plan and its proposed execution. Those who believe Iran is lying may be proven correct tomorrow or next week, but for today, good faith negotiations demand we test them and if they act in good faith, reward them.Perhaps none of this would be happening had the USA not overthrown the DEMOCRATICALLY elected leader of Iran in 1953 and reinstalled a brutal dictator of a Shah who imprisoned and tortured his own people in the face of their own legal system and especially our own. When ends are justified by means, bad things happen. For instance, if the end goal is to make sure that Mr. Obama gets no credit for creating a more stable and friendly Iran, using fear tactics, insults, and threats to make matters worse will ONLY MAKE MATTERS WORSE.Give peace a chance. It is the American way, it is the Christian way. We can always, as that one HoR legislator said, nuke them, later.Respectfully,C.

Trust, but verify. Who said that?

I really don’t get why every conservative posting here prefers war with Iran to talking with Iran. How’d that work out for you in Iraq? How many military dead? How many civilians dead? How stable is a middle-eastern country after you blow it up and make the US their enemy? Are you willing to raise taxes to pay for it this time? If not, shut the hell up and let Obama and Kerry do their jobs, which they’re doing just fine.

And another thought to add to the discussion: why should Iran trust the US government? Have they proven they can be trusted?

It’s a two-way street. We can try to trust, or we can go to war.

Who was it that said “Blessed are the peacemakers”? Anybody believe that guy knew anything we don’t?

They’re being more open and “trustworthy” than Netanyahu about that “program”.

The non extremists finally get in charge over there, but alas the extremists are still still rattling their swords over here.

Why does the US always have to make other populations suffer just because we don’t particularly like their leaders?

We would do very well to have some more concern for our own problems at home, not to mention the planet we are trashing.

Tigger, where do you get your information? I am so impressed that you know so much that the rest of us don’t know. You say that the Iranians know how to keep things secret, but evidently not secret from you.

And Molon proves to be either dyed in the wool over his eyes chickenhawk, or REMF (if served in any manner at all).

Why negotiate when we can just send a couple thousand of our kids over there to die?
