Poor Bern…but then Luann actually Did try to keep from laughing. Bern’s eyesight must be closer to her Dad’s eye prescription… ;)

I used to keep my old glasses while I waited for a new prescription to be filled…but by the time I Did need a new prescription, the old frames were so out-of-date that I didn’t keep them. I never had Bern’s Dad’s frames, however! ;)

Note to teenage girls:Do not wear glasses meant for one’s dad. It won’t end well.

I guess everybody’s had that moment when they laugh at an inappropriate time… or a time that they normally wouldn’t, but got caught very much off guard, when they saw it… we may have tried to keep from doing it, but it was a volcano, and the pressure won out….– Of all the people that I know wear glasses, it usually seems that when they have a problem with their “official” pair, then they go get the substitute… they either own, or have access to a pair that are not their… first choice, in vision assistance fashions…-I guess now, Bern is letting Luann know that for the time, she “doesn’t exist”, to her….she think’s Lu is “out of sight!”… – Will Bern “see” Lu’s lack of pokerface, and “raise her five”, in the form of the “four sisters from thumb street”?…

I always had to have two pairs of glasses around before I got LASIK. Thankfully, all of my glasses looked okay on my face. Poor Bernie!

The chances of interchangeable scripts are about zip, and when you add in that her dad would be old enough to have presbyopia correction, too, the scenario just is not one that makes sense except for the teen reaction…

Sometimes, people wear someone’s lens that isn’t exactly medicated, or “fine-tuned” in the lens, but are just good enough to get the important things, until the time you are able to use your own glasses, again… maybe her dad’s are like that… not very strong, or not “medicated”…. – Could even be his over-the-counter general sight glasses, and not a “prescription”….. possibly…

I like this as I haven’t seen these expressions on LuAnn before… Greg gave himself a chance to draw some new faces here, Bernice’s too.

Could Bernice end up with contacts or Lasik?

    These characters have evolved.

They are famous for ironically being dismissive of any contact with people on the outside, as they have a “no phones” in their stores (except for the moneymaker store manager)…. too much of a distraction for employee and customer, alike… their pitch-line: "Don’t call us….we might call you!!!….

Okay, well Bernice still seems to have no sense if humor. Had this been my friend and me we would have laughed together at how silly she looked. Does Bernice always have to be so snarky? It seems she has a cutting comment in just about every panel she appears. Even when she was speaking to her counselor a few months back. She needs to find out why she is always so angry with everyone.

’Tain’t funny, Luann! Why would one laugh at Bern’s borrowed glasses? They may not be very attractive on her, but that doesn’t make them funny. I sympathize with Bernice here. Luann is out of line….

When I was picking my first frames, while waiting at America’s Best, I had a few picked out from the left side (I had started to review the shelves left to right) and found that I liked some of those best (then was told they were “men’s frames”. I rather liked the more square styles than rounded and was thinking of more coverage for peripheral vision.

At 76, I am finally starting to need help with my vision but have been lucky to manage without any until now by caring well for myself.

Our kids and their cousins guffawed at the slide show at my in-laws’ 50th, 15 years ago—-those clothes their parents wore as kids. Those glasses!!!

And now those same hideous thick plastic glasses are back in style and I know that come the day, their grandchildren are going to guffaw at the pictures of them. Karma!

Yeah, I have two pair(s) of glasses two— bifocals for normal use, and a pair focused at 17" for computer use. If you too have lost muscle tone in your eyeballs, I recommend a pair of “computer” glasses.

This was also part of a then “rising trend” a few years back, labeled “Geek Chic” [sic]… -Even some “Hip Hop Artists” also adopted this trend, wearing the “horn-rimmed glasses”… even some NBA stars joined in this trend, for awhile….

“Friebds never laugh at friends? What morgue do y’all live in???”^If friends laughing at friends works for you and yours, that’s great! But not everybody wears the same size… – Some friends can laugh at each others’ expense, knowing that they’re open for it, the next time… – Some friends have one that doesn’t like it, and one that does… – Some friends have both of them laughing about everything and everyone, only because they are two people who find humor in every single thing… - It all depends on who those people are, and that’s why some would laugh, and some wouldn’t… – Perspective, Perception, Point of view!

Honestly, do these glasses look all that much different from the ones that Bernice normally wears? And does Greg Evans really believe that a father and daughter would likely have the same prescription just because they’re related? Or does he not understand that glasses aren’t interchangeable?

Friends don’t have to work on a quid pro quo, nor does the artist HAVE to show us every second of their lives to show both benefit from the relationship, some friends you just enjoy hanging out with..Yes, yes I know there are some who are angry with the artist for not doing it THEIR way but some are only happy being unhappy.

Not wanting actual eyeglasses used to be the desired style. Since I don’t have any teenagers, that shows how out of the loop I am… ;)
