    @Pcolli, such a waste of top shelf booze! I would always try to use a generic one in cooking (even in most mixed drinks) because the subtleties that make those rare and expensive are lost in mixing with other things (and more so in baking). Of course, some of them used just for a weekly dousing of the cake from October to December 1st (for shipping) is exactly how I made mine one year – with a final decoration of freshly made marzipan poinsettias and holly.
