No, guns being used on innocent bystanders in large numbers is what drives us insane.

I am sure that is what the British Monarchy called the Founding Fathers too.

The usual straw man arguments coming from the right. There are a few liberals who want to ban all guns, but most of us believe the Second Amendment gives us the right to have guns for protection, sport & hunting. What is insane, is that even the most reasonable attempt to have universal background checks or waiting periods, is met with utter contempt & rejection. The idea isn’t to ban guns, just make it harder for criminals & crazies to get them. Local gun laws are useless when guns are easily bought over a border. The NRA is the biggest threat to the Second Amendment.Their fundamentalist interpretation makes overturning it seem like the only course.

The “crazies”, especially in mass shootings, are the extreme minority of homicides and gun deaths. Regulation, like sound background checks, knowing who DOES qualify for having weapons or “concealed carry” because they ARE sane, and non-criminal, is used in NewZealand and other places, and isn’t a bad idea. It does NOT equal seizing all firearms.

With the number of firearms in the system, it IS difficult to put the cat back into the bag, but continuing to just release more unrestrained cats onto the streets, is NOT the answer.

Oswald found it easy to buy a junk, cheap weapon, and it really isn’t much harder today, to lay hands on a much deadlier weapon, if you just have the money.

Oswald used an obsolesent 6.5mm Mannlecher Carcano carbine, a WW 2 Italian weapon with a 5 (five) round magazine and bolt action. Even in California and Massachuttes such a rifle is legal..Thinking that banning guns will stop crazy people is insane.

Enoki: you might understand and appreciate I have an 1892 Mauser Argentine in 7.65. For a long range shot, even with its iron sights, highly accurate, and the Mauser action is very smooth to operate, and has a hunting legal 5 round magazine. It’s more than enough to to most any “job”, and while antique, its function is NOT “obsolete”.

Seriously? (not about guns) Do you really believe the government BS that Oswald killed Kennedy? He truly was a “patsy.” Countless “real” investigations have proven that there were at least two gunmen and that Oswald was neither skilled enough or actually on the sixth floor.
