It’s not Horace’s fault!

The arrows are literal.

The town I live in is has a number of hills. Due to a lack of available space, developers have been building on top of them, no matter how awkward things get.[]One road has about a 60-degree slope to it.[]With a partial curve.[]That is hidden by trees.[]And no “Steep Slope” warning sign at the top.[]In other words, if you’re coming from the top part, you won’t know there’s such a drastic downgrade until you’re actually on it.

We left for ‘Frisco in your Rambler,The radiator running dry,I’ve never been much of a gambler….

And that’s before Lombard street gets all zig-zaggy….– But I guess Horace was inclined to take a trip there, anyway….

One of the four corners of the world…

At 16, in my drivers ed class our instructors final day for each of us involved going over a winding steep forested hill in the country. I think it was revenge for the weeks prior. At the top of the hill the road did a sudden right turn and dropped abruptly. Most all of us (including the 2 guys in the class) when we got there, slammed on the brakes and screamed.

Horace will be leaving more than his heart in San Francisco. The Bayshore Fwy has never been that clear. (I’m in S.F.)
