Good morning, Vagabonds. My friend visited me yesterday bring several weeks worth of back issues of the Daily News. I went through them quickly this time but interrupted my reading the English history. I’m up to the reign of George III but have not yet reached the American Revolution.
Temp is 40 this am but will be going back up as the week progresses. Think I will head for the gym this morning to start getting back in shape. So far the pain has stayed away from all my joints.Hope all have a good day.
To remember Armistice Day.And to honor the Dough Boys of WWI..In Flanders Fields the poppies blow.Between the crosses row on row. That mark our place, and the sky.The Larks, still bravely singing, flyScarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days agoWe lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow.Loved and were loved, and now we lie..In Flanders fields..Take up out quarrel with the foeTo you from failing hands we throw. The torch, be yours to hold it high.If ye break faith with us who dieWe shall not sleep, though poppies grow..In Flanders fields..From a 1919 collection of poems byJohn McCrae
Good morning Vagabonds..Now I’ll be a little less serious..Yesterday’s snow melted, but we got more last night..No mail today, if only I remember that..Well everyone, have fun..ttfn
Once again, it is time to set aside a day to honor and THANK all of our Veterans for sacrificing their comforts, homes, and even their lives to keep our country safe.Thank you!
Dragged out my old Marines t shirt and camo shorts for the day to wear for all those others that have served & currently serve.
Going to sit out and read for a while and just relax. We had our Veterans day parade here in Savannah as always, I didn’t go, to hard to find a place to park, sooo I watched it on TV
