Good morning, Vagabonds. After I finished reading yesterday’s comics at 5 AM, I prepared to go to my clinic for a lung x-ray for my pulmonary specialist, blood sample to see if I had Lyme disease (I was bitten by a tick in Virginia many years ago), to see the nurse to see if I’m able to get my flu shot since I think my cold lingers on. I arrived at 7 AM and was no. 5 for the blood test. The nurse saw me at 8:30 and gave me a treatment (i was still coughing). I then got my chest x-ray. Then my doctor gave me a thorough check-up and approved me for my flu-shot. By 11:30 I left the office and took a long nap upon returning home.

My house guest is returning to Azerbaijan today. I will miss him.

Morning, Vagabonds. We’ll be heading for the airport in about an hour or so. It’s been great having the girls with us and we’re so sad to see them go.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

Woodworker, your reference to the “little old winemaker” yesterday reminded me of when we took a tour of the Italian Swiss Colony winery when I was a kid. It was when their commercials featured “that little old winemaker” and my mom swore to her dying day that our tour guide was the same guy. (sans the lederhosen)

Rita, about every year or so, we have a small winery in Rancho Cucamonga (for those Jack Benny fans among us, yes – THAT Cucamonga) start a batch or two for us of wine. A batch produces anywhere from 24 to 29 bottles. Yesterday we bottled White Zinfandel and Piesporter. It really is very good wine, and we have a blast filling, corking, labeling & sealing the top of each bottle. They provide a table in the bottling room, and we set up a snack buffet to browse while working. We usually have some friends help us, but they were not available yesterday, so it was just us and our son who drove up from Costa Mesa. We hadn’t seen him since last Christmas, so we had a great time. About 3 1/2 hours driving each way, we split the driving duty.

It rained almost all the way home yesterday. We had maybe 20 minutes of dry weather in 3 1/2 hours. And, I have now discovered that I need to replace the driver’s side wiper blade. It has been raining pretty much all night off and on and still looks like it will continue. I don’t mind. It means we don’t have triple digit heat anymore until next spring or summer.
