My 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Perett of PS 11 in SE Yonkers, made every subject entertaining, even math which I hated.

Calvin’s too easy to please. Cable is really hundreds of channels and nothing worth watching.

I think you are getting confused between doing routine work and being intelligent. Can a smartphone create the snowman masterpieces?

And when there is no phone, no cable, no satellit, or you are old and lost your eyesight, your hearing, you cannot walk or hold a book. Than it is good, when God is your friend and he is the only one, you have than. It is good to learn praying, as long as you can!!

If he doesn’t pay attention in school, he’s more likely to live somewhere that doesn’t get cable when he’s older.

If only those people should be allowed to teach, where will we find enough teachers.

Miss Wormwood doesn’t agree with the particular thought that Calvin has been entertaining today.

Bill Watterson was ahead of his time. He had no idea where things were going when he wrote this strip…..it’s 20 years old.

Thinking about the times when this strip shows Calvin watching TV at home, I don’t think his family has cable now. I’m pretty sure I remember a rabbit-ear antenna. Could be wrong. I remember his dad not wanting to get connected to the Internet because “it’s bad enough we have a phone”.

I’d choose unlimited internet over cable anytime any day anywhere.

I wonder what Bill Watterson would do with a revival of the strip today, considering the changes in telecomm and networking and “social media”.

Only people with that capability should be allowed to teach. We would have a HUGE shortage of teachers.

Wow Calvin sure called it 100% correctly in this comic.

Watterson, needs to bring Calvin back as an adult with a kid just like Calvin.

@ChessPirate: The answer to your story problem is that six of the space adventurers are able to continue their Star Trek, but two have been Lost In Space. In mathematical terms, this is one of those very rare times when:two = ateandsix = free

If you all think your teachers were bad, try being taught by elderly nuns in the 1950s.we rolled our eyes so often you’d think we would all need surgery by now!Poor things, they grew up in the 30s when teenagers were more like big children. They really were appalled by the “Rock and Roll” generation!

Calvin: “For your information, Miss Wormwood, I have every right to ignore this material if I so choose; I mean, it IS a free country!” …The Principal: (Sigh) “You aga-a-i-inn?!”“And it’s not even 9:30 yet!”

@Number Three: I saw a few weeks ago that Number Six had modified his GoComics name to honor the memory of his father, so I was hoping that Number Six was doing OK. Thanks for letting me know, and please give him my condolences.
