So what! Our military has no current plans to put any American troops into any danger over Syria. There are no plans for “boots on the ground”, there are not even any plans to have piloted fighters over flying Syria as the Naval ships being sent have no aircraft carriers among them, just missile ships. So the only attack is going to either consist of cruise missiles, or RPV’s. This means that Assad and his military knowing our moves is not in the slightest bit going to help him or his military. That guy behind the other tree is hiding a Smith & Wesson .500 caliber Magnum Handgun in his other hand, that is quite capable of both penetrating Assad’s tree, and Assad as well!!

Whatever happened to all of the ultra conservative types that were screaming that we actually invade Iraq back in the GW Bush era, to stop Saddam from doing the same thing that evidently Assad has done to his own people? Hello, Hello, where are you??

I agree. At best, we weaken Assad’s military enough to somewhat level the playing field, which will assure that the fighting will not stop.*At worst, fighting spreads to neighboring Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq. Then our leaders say that when they had promised “no boots on the ground”, they didn’t foresee the conflict spreading, and now can’t be held to their promise.

It’s the US GOP that’s helping Assad. Anything to oppose the President, whether it’s in the country’s interest or not. There’s a word for that type of behavior.

So the bar is chemical weapons? You can kill thousands with bullets, bombs, and machetes but not with gas? seems dumb.

Where are Sean Penn, Susie Sarandon, Tom Hanks, Michael Moore and the rest? These folks in Syria not good enough when they get killed?

This whole thing is the most insane thing to happen to our planet since the Republicans ran their bizarre campaign for president. Everyone on both sides are so whacked out it’s unbelievable. Has no one, besides me, ever heard what Obama is saying now is exactly what other Presidents have said at the beginning of each extension of staying in a state of war? ‘No boots one the ground’ has been said, in one form or another, since we weren’t going to send troops into Viet Nam. What mind numbing is that the Right is claiming a moral high ground over exactly what any Republican President would be doing the exact same thing if they were in office. I’m totally unimpressed with both sides. Just a bunch of hot air, thumping of chest as we enter yet another conflict….and of course we will be setting up just another despot that we’ll be “having to” fight in a few years. And the Rebels there are absolutely insane, religious nut cases that are or as bad as the Taliban. Bring our soldiers home now.
