Good morning to all.Going to be a perfect day weather wise. It is also the day that our children are having a 60th anniversary party for us. Our anniversary is really Oct. 4th, but they are having it earlier at our oldest daughter’s house because the weather in Oct. may be bad. This way people can be either in the house, on the wrap around porch or in the yard as all of them could not fit into the house and eat a sit down meal at once. Not sure exactly how many are coming. Somewhere between 60 and 70. Our daughter is a great organizer and planer and makes as much of the meal as she can ahead of time and puts it in the freezer. That way she can buy things when they are on sale. Then all she has to do is take them out and heat it.
Good morning Vagabonds..Rather cool this morning, weather say rainy. eh.Woodworker, 60 yrs of wedded bliss, that’s wonderful. My folks will be married 68 yrs come Nov..Sun just came out..Well, I’m off. (been off for a while) ;-).ttfn
Good morning, Vagabonds. Yesterday’s New Year’s party/dinner was wonderful. I even got to sing a few Israeli songs – I’m glad I still remembered the Hebrew words. The walk from the subway to the party in Queens was really long – I’m glad we got a ride back to the subway station. I’m glad I was with my Azeri-Turkish house guest because when we reached my own station I yelled out for the 1st time, “I hate these 41 steps! I want an elevator in the subway station.”
Got back from our little trip. This time, our “backroad” trip took us to a place called Freezeout Lake, near Great Falls. It’s a place where thousands and thousands of migratory geese and swans and who knows what else stops to rest and eat each spring. In late March and April, they stay for a spell, and the scene is quite incredible when they all come in for a landing! The fall migration isn’t as spectacular. Sometimes they don’t even stop if the lake is already frozen.
A friend says that in the Spring, they stop over in the nearby town called Fairfield, and avail themselves of the fields that have just thawed out………and gobble up all the left over grain from the previous harvest. She said all the fields look totally white from those geese!Hopefully we’ll get up there to see it.
Good morning Vagabonds:Had a good day time yesterday. The weather and temp. were perfect. Only about 48 showed up. I wish when people tell you they will come, they would let you know if they can’t make it. It was a long day for my wife so she went to bed right after we got home, which was quite late. This is the last time we will do this as it is a lot of work for our daughter.
Good morning Vagabonds..There is some sun out there, somewhere. It’s Sunday after all..Ya know, I can’t think of a thing to say right now..Oh yah, Hi..Later..ttfn
We got a ton of hail Friday nite. Enough to collect on the ground and look like it was snow. It was 83 before the storm, and 68 afterwards! Actually, it was quite pretty.
Unfortunately, a lot of damage to our veggie garden. Lots of tomato branches were broken, and all the new blossoms were dropped. Oh well. God’s way of “pruning”, I guess. :))
