Good morning, Vagabonds. Yesterday, I went to the medicaal supply store to pick up my new rollator. For those who don’t know, a rollator is like a walker but it has a seat and a place below the seat to put things. I have been complaining that my old rollator makes me walk stoop shouldered because I must bend down to hold it. Also my fore arms hurt because the handles are too far away.

When I reached the shop, I was told I’m not tall enough for a higher rollator (I’m 5’7 1/2" and the taller rollator is meant for someone 6’. Also I must weigh over 300 poiunds to be eligible. Although I am way overweight, I’m not that overweight. One rerason I want the rollator because it’s easier to walk with it and I’m hoping the walking will help me lose weight.

When I brought it home (by 2 buses) I found it was higher than my former rolalator. I will keep the new one in Florida because I can do more walking there since there are elevators and escalors there, unlike the subways in NY.

    Good Morning Vagabonds:

Going to be hot today. In the low 90’s, not a cloud in the sky.

Good to see lots of Vagabonds here this morning.

It only got up to 85 yesterday, and a wonderful 58 during the night. I slept soooooooooo well. What a treat!

Glad to hear you were able to get a new rollator, Arye. I have one similar because of my 2 knee replacements that I use when we travel. It has a basket in the front rather than under the seat. That seat has come in handy at many an airshow. Wouldn’t have been able to go to these events without it.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

Arye, when I broke my foot I wasn’t allowed to put any weight on it at all. So we bought a cheap rollator and I put my knee on it and used it like a skateboard in the house so I didn’t have to use the crutches all the time. There are hub-high marks on every door jamb in that house! I hung a canvas bag on the front to carry stuff and it worked very well. When I recovered, I gave it to someone else who needed one temporarily. Last I heard it had been passed on yet again. (My boss brought one that belonged to his wife for me to use at the office, so the only time I had to use crutches was between my car and the buildings. Thank God it was my left foot so I could still drive.)

    GOOD AFTERNOON YA’LL

Beautiful here on the lake, low 80’s cool nights, no AC needed last few weeks. Going to be 70’s next few days.

@JanCinLV: You using the rollator as a skate board reminded me that last year, when I had my knee replaced, instead of using a walker in the house I used one of our swivel kitchen chairs with casters on it to roll around the house. Necessity is the mother of invention. What ever works.
